Private security agencies have committed to working with the government and the police to strengthen security and prevent untoward incidents in the state, said Vikram Mahurkar, President, Security Association of Gujarat here on Saturday.
He was speaking at the annual general meeting of the Security Association of Gujarat held on Saturday in the city. The meeting was attended by members of security agencies and association from across the state. In this meeting, all the stakeholders discussed key issues in detail and came up with positive solutions.
On this occasion, Anupam Singhji Gehlot – IGP (CID Crime) – Gujarat State was present as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Dr Sheetal Nair, Corporate Head, DSS Group; Rajeev Biren Bhattacharya, MD, Shubharamba Products and Services; eval Pandya, Assistant Professor of Police Science and Securities Studies, NFSU and Abhishek Ranjan, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II.
While addressing the gathering, Vikram Mahurkar, President, Security Association of Gujarat, said, “Private security agencies have been playing important role for the security of the people of the state, properties, financial institutions and hospitals. Presently a large number of private security guards are on duty all over Gujarat and this number is even more than the number of policemen in the state. We are committed to working with the government and the police to strengthen security and prevent untoward incidents.”
Association has over 200 members and during the meeting they covered issues like development and operation of the industry, skill development of security personnel and certification. The Association has always strived and pioneered to make a significant contribution to the security of the citizens and industries of the State in collaboration with the Government.
The security personnel performed their duty during the COVID situation and they were among the frontline warriors at hospitals, COVID test centers and various containment zones. The securities industry has been facing some challenging situations in recent times. In-depth discussion was also held on various issues related to the industry.
