With the twin objectives of preserving and propagating mother tongue Gujarati and the rich culture and tradition among the younger generation and help the woman handicraft makers affected by COVID-induced economic slowdown, Ahmedabad-based Poetree, Kalpavruksha of Poetry is organizing a three-day exhibition-cum-sale – TRENDITION Follows Tradition Flows with Trend an Exhibition Of LITART HOME PRODUCTS – at Ellisbridge Gymkhana Club, near Law Garden, Ellisbridge. The exhibition will remain open between 3 pm and 7 pm till Sunday.
Speaking with the media on Friday, Parthivi Adhyaru Shah, Founder & Creative Director Poetree, the Kalpavriksha of Poetry, said, “Mother tongue, culture and tradition are one’s own identity. Poetree has taken the earnest initiative of preserving and propagating mother tongue Gujarati and the rich culture and tradition among the younger generation by introducing the materials they use in their day-to-day life. Under this initiative, tea-cups, trays, pillow and cushion covers, kurtas, linen and dupattas to postcards, bags and wall clocks inscribed with Gujarati shlokas, words and poetry etc made by the woman handicraft makers affected by COVID-induced economic slowdown will be sold. Children are keen observers and learn many good things from their surroundings right from morning to night in a joyful way. By creating a right environment and ambience, they will be able to learn their mother tongue Gujarati and also follow its rich culture and tradition. To drive home this message, we are holding litart or literature combined with art purely as a social service. Nearly 5,000 members of Ellisbridge Gymkhana and the social media are our brand ambassadors for this common cause.”
