GANDHINAGAR, DEC 24

The Gujarat government has extended the night curfew timings by two hours in eight major cities of the state, including capital Ahmedabad from Saturday, 25th December amid the rising Omicron scare.

The night curfew in eight major cities of Gujarat – Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar and Junagadh – will be in force from 11 pm to 5 am from Christmas, Saturday, says  Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office on Friday.

The curfew timing was recently reduced to be in place from 1 am till 5 am.

This comes as the state on Thursday reported 7 more cases of Omicron coronavirus variant, taking the tally of the new strain in Gujarat to 30.
