About 371 Air Warriors who successfully completed training at the Air Force Station in Tambaram were inducted formally into the Indian Air Force (IAF) in a grand passing out parade held on Thursday, says a Defence release.
371 trainees comprising 365 ab initio trainees from various technical and non-technical trades and six international students from Nepal, Nigeria, Cameroon & Afghanistan successfully completed their trade phase of Training.
The inductees who had assembled at the Air Force station performed breathtaking parade routines and impressed those who were present. Later, chief guest of the parade, Air Commodore Vipul Singh, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Tambaram officially inducted them into the force.
In his address to the new recruits, the Air Commodore complimented them on their achievements and stressed upon each one of them to strive for professional excellence. He said, “You should keep themselves abreast with the latest changes and make sustained efforts towards continuous enhancement of your knowledge and skills.”
He also advised the trainees to display exemplary conduct at all times, in keeping with the ethos of the service.
He congratulated the recruits on their passing out and appreciated them for their breathtaking parade presentation.
The Air Officer then presented the ‘Best All-Rounder Trophy’ to Leading Aircraftsman Alok Sharma, Mechanical System Fitter in group ‘X’ and Leading Aircraftsman Saurabh, Meteorological Assistant in group ‘Y’ of the Workshop Training Institute.
