Gujarat schools to remain closed till Feb 5 for Std 1 to 9; online classes will continue

Several international bodies have given a report that schools should run physical classes because the loss of learning cannot be hampered for several years if schools remain closed.

Gujarat schools will remain closed for Classes 1 to 9 till February 05, 2022, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The state government has asked schools to continue with online classes till February 05, 2022.

Several international bodies have given a report that schools should run physical classes because the loss of learning cannot be hampered for several years if schools remain closed.

A few days ago, UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore released a statement for governments across the globe to keep schools open amid the Covid-19 pandemic as students cannot wait for more. “As the Omicron variant of Covid-19 continues its spread all over the world, we urge governments to do everything in their power to keep it from further disrupting children’s education,” said UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore.

Therefore, several states in the country have decided to reopen schools from February 1 or the first week of February. State governments have allowed the reopening of schools from next month is Telangana, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, Chandigarh among others.
