TN Minister of Information Vellakoil Saminathan released two documentaries on Manuneedhi Chozhar and Chief Minister MK Stalin’s healthcare scheme ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthvam’, and ‘Thalaivan’ here on Monday to mark the CM’s 69th birthday-March 1.
Film producer and distributor Singara Vadivelan, a staunch DMK activist has joined hands with Amma Creations T Siva to make these documentaries so as to create awareness on various welfare schemes of the DMK Government.
While the minister released the ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthvam’ directed by Vasanthabalan, Singaravelan unveiled ‘Thalaivan’, a musical tribute to the CM, a day ahead of his birthday. The function was held at Prasad Labs in Saligramam.
Iyakkunar Imayam Bharathiraja received the documentary on ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthvam’, and chief of Producers’ Guild Thenaandal Mulrali received the ‘Thalaivan’.
T Nagar MLA Karunanidhi, Virugambakkam MLA Prabhu Raja and Tamilnadu Housing Board chairman and actor Poochi S Murugan were present at this event.
During his nine months of golden rule, TN CM Stalin has implemented various welfare schemes.
Speaking on various welfare schemes launched by CM Stalin, the Information Minister said, “During the rule of Dr Kalaingar M Karunanidhi, he had launched ‘Varumun Kappom’ scheme which was dropped by the then government. The same scheme has been modified and introduced as ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthvam’ by the CM. I appreciate the efforts of T Siva and Singara Vadivelan duo in making a documentary on this to create awareness among the masses.”
Deliberating on another initiative of CM Stalin-led TN Government, the minister said, “To save the precious lives of accident victims during the golden hour, the visionary CM had launched ‘Innuiyir’. Under this scheme, the victim will get immediate healthcare for the first 48 hours absolutely free of cost in private as well as public hospitals and the Good Samaritan who helps the accident victim will get Rs 5,000 for his or her community service.”
The minister further added that, with the approval of the CM, this doc on ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthvam’ will be screened in all cinema theatres.
