Aapnu Gujarati boy Ranveer Singh says, “I want families to come together for clean family entertainers.”
The Super Star is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which will be released worldwide on Friday, May 13 on silver screens. The actor wearing a vibrant colour dress, who is currently in Ahmedabad, was seen dancing on a ‘chakda’, the quintessential transport vehicle of rural Gujarat during the promotional activities.
This is the second time Ranveer Singh is playing a Gujarati boy on screen. His first was Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela with Deepika Padukone. Talking about turning a Gujarati boy again, Ranveer said, “I love everything about Gujarat its culture, its vibrancy, its zeal to be the best, and most importantly its people. Gujaratis are enterprising and friendly. In Mumbai, most of my society members are Gujaratis who still preserve the community living culture. So, I was really inspired to become a Gujarati boy in Jayeshbhai Jordaar and get the same amount of love from Gujaratis across the world, all over again. I hope they love the film and love my performance in it. I have given it my all and I know we have a very special film to offer to them.”
To a query on the role of a dad in the film, Singh said, “Generally, fathers do a lot of sacrifice for their families and protective of all. This reminisces my dad, who did a lot for us, children.”
On stardom, he said that he wanted to compete with himself and none other to deliver a good and wholesome entertainers by continuously upskilling himself.
Throwing light on preferring family entertainers over other kind of films, the Superstar explained that “I want families to come together for clean family entertainers – there shouldn’t be much violence, which kids can’t see or ladies in the family don’t enjoy that much due to too much fights, or for instance, a mature theme that can’t be shown to kids or you feel awkward watching it with your folks or parents. My films should now be such that everybody sits together and enjoys them – kids, the elderly, everyone at home and Jayeshbhai Jordaar is that kind of film.”

A hilarious satire on society – Jayeshbhai Jordaar, produced by Maneesh Sharma, also stars Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey, who debuts on Bollywood’s big screen opposite Ranveer. The film has been directed by debutant Divyang Thakkar and is releasing worldwide on May 13, 2022.
