Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet has announced direct flights from Ahmedabad to Vietnam starting October this year. The new flight services are planned to link Ahmedabad to Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), three of Vietnam’s most well-known business and tourism cities. The flying time is expected to be around 4 to 5 hours.
The new routes are set to operate within the fourth quarter of 2022. Vietnam’s largest private carrier also plans to open new direct services to other major Indian cities by the year end. Incidentally, Vietjet Air to become the first airline scheduled nonstop flights connecting Vietnam and Ahmedabad in India.
The announcement comes on the heels of the airline’s recent launch of direct routes connecting New Delhi, Mumbai to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and its soon-to-launch routes linking Mumbai and New Delhi with Phu Quoc islands, Southeast Asia’s favored beach destination in early September.
The new direct flights will make it easier and more affordable for Indian visitors to travel not only to Vietnam, but also connect to other Southeast Asia’s destinations of Bali, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore or further to Northeast Asian cities of Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya and Taipei, etc.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Jay L Lingeswara, Commercial Director, Vietjet, said, “Gujarat is one of the most important business and tourist destinations and Gujaratis are known for leisure and pilgrim tours. Vietnam has a lot of tourist destinations. Initially, we will start with three to four weekly services from Ahmedabad. Depends upon the demand from other major cities of Gujarat, we will expand our services. To cater to the taste buds of Indian passengers, we will offer pure vegetarian meals in our flights. We will consider adding regional foods to satisfy the customers. Our ticket prices start as low as Rs 2,222 as inaugural offer for advance bookings. We have SkyBoss Business, SkyBoss, Deluxe ans Eco classes.”
