As part of ‘Azadi Ka amrit Mahotsav”, the third day of “iconic week celebrations” of “Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Stations” was celebrated at Tiruvallikkeni MRTS railway station on Wednesday. On this day, various cultural programmes on ‘Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathi’ who is associated with Tiruvallikeni railway station were being conducted.
Railway school children, Perambur sang the popular Bharathiyar songs “Theeratha Vilaiyaatu Pillai” and Chinnanjiru Kiliye”. Audio visual on “Bharathiyar Illam” and documentry on “Mahakavi Bharathiyar” were displayed at Thiruvallikeni railway station for the rail passengers. A speech on “Bharathi Kanda Pudumai Penn” was presented by Railway Higher Secondary School, Perambur.
Chennai Division RPF team have also conducted Nukkad Naatak on “Mahakavi Bharathi”. Live stage programs such as music, drama and dance were performed by the staff of Chennai Division.
On this occasion, K Sriranganayaki, Assitant Personnel Officer, along with Welfare Inspectors of Chennai Division, staff and wards & students of railway schools participated in this cultural program. Rail users and general public also gathered to witness the events and took selfies at the selfie point kept at the station.
Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Stations – Day 4 at Tiruvallikeni MRTS Station
On Day-4 (Thursday) various cultural events remembering on ‘Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathi’ was held in the evening between 4 pm and 5 pm.
The details of the programms are:
- Audio visual on “Bharathiyar Illam” and slide show of “Mahakavi Bharathiyar” were displayed at Thiruvallikeni railway station.
- “Aaduvome Pallu Paaduvome” and Thaayin Manikkodi Paareer” Bharathiyar songs, sang by Railway school children.
- Speech on “Bharathiyum Viduthalai Vetkayum” was presented by Railway Higher Secondary School, Children Perambur.
- The drama and dancefor Bharathiyar songs was performed by Railway staffsand students of Chennai Division.
The photo exhibition of Mahakavi Bharathiyar in Tiruvallikeni MRTS Railway Station was witnessed by Rail users, Staff and general public.
‘Selfie Point’ near the main entrance of the station was the attraction for children and youth.
These celebrations have also increased the footfall of the Tiruvallikeni Railway Station in the last two days. Similar cultural events will be held throughout the week-long celebrations of iconic week at Tiruvallikkeni station, says a release from Chennai Railway Division PRO A. Elumalai.
