President Droupadi Murmu has awarded President’s Tatrakshak Medal (PTM) and Tatrakshak Medal (TM) to the Indian Coast Guard Personnel for their act of “conspicuous gallantry, exceptional devotion to duty and distinguished or meritorious service” on the occasion of the of 76th Independence Day.

“The President of India, awarded Tatrakshak Medals to the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel. Out of total 05 such medals, 02 personnel have been awarded for their valiant and meritorious act in the State,” says an ICG release.
Commandant Kunal C Naik carried out a challenging night rescue operation during midnight off Veraval on September 13, 2021 rescuing 07 personnel has been awarded Tatrakshak Medal (Gallantry) whereas the Subordinate Officer, Prakash, PSE(ER) has been awarded Tatrakshak medal for his three decades of meritorious and unblemished service in ICG.
In addition, Commandant Manish Bahl, Station Commanding Officer at ICG Gandhinagar has been commended by the Director General Indian Coast Guard for his devotion towards duty.
