The Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) was filled with inspiration as the transformative seminar ‘अहं शक्ति: A movement for Women’ took place on Thursday, celebrating the strength and resilience of women.
The event, aimed at empowering and uplifting women from all walks of life, featured inspirational speeches, emotional moments, and recognition of seven remarkable women for their significant contributions to society.
One of the distinguished speakers, Rachna Thakkar, the founder of Rachna Salon, shared her incredible journey from Keshod taluka in Junagadh to Dubai. Starting with applying mehndi in her home in Dubai in 1980, she now runs 14 salons across the UAE. She is credited with empowering over 2,000 women, and helping them achieve financial independence and success in the beauty industry.
“Empowerment is not just about lifting yourself, but also about lifting others. My journey has been about helping other women realise their dreams,” said Thakkar in her address.
Celebrated author and motivational speaker Kuldip Singh Kaler, affectionately known as Positive Paaji, also spoke on the occasion.
“This seminar is our humble attempt to bring a positive change in society by helping more women become self-reliant. Our movement is aimed at supporting women to get equal opportunities and make full use of their talents and capabilities,” he said.
A key highlight of the event was the recognition of seven exceptional women who were honoured for their hard work, dedication and contributions to their respective fields.

Anita Mrig’s ‘maid’-en success mints money
Anita, who once supported herself by doing household chores in others’ homes, turned her excellent cooking skills into a vocation. She has become a successful entrepreneur and is providing financial support to her family.
These inspirational women were also provided a financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 to support them in their educational and entrepreneurial journeys.
Reflecting on the achievements of these seven women, Thakkar said, “Their stories of resilience and determination showcase the indomitable spirit of women. It is women like them who inspire me to continue my mission of supporting and empowering other women.”
The seminar left everyone inspired and motivated to pursue their own paths to success.
