Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has ensured to arrange the safe return of around 11 lakh migrant workers through 754 special Shramik trains as of Friday, a senior official said.

Secretary to the CM Ashwani Kumar said, “2,317 Shramik trains have been operated as of Thursday midnight to send 31 lakh migrant workers back to their home. Out of this, Gujarat has operated 699 Shramik trains to arrange the safe return of 10 lakh 15 thousand labourers. This includes 462 trains to U.P, 126 for Bihar, 10 for Chhattisgarh, 1 for J&K, 24 for Jharkhand, 24 for M.P, 1 for Maharashtra, 1 for Manipur, 40 for Orissa, 1 for Rajasthan, 2 for Tamil Nadu, 2 for West Bengal and 5 for Uttarakhand.”

“55 trains will be operated on Friday to carry 85 thousand migrants. 21 trains will run for U.P, 29 for Bihar, 3 for Jharkhand, and 2 for Chattisgarh. 9 will be operated from Ahmedabad, 3 from Bharuch, 2 from Gandhidham, 1 from Junagadh and Gandhinagar, 3 from Rajkot, 35 from Surat, and 1 from Vadodara,” Kumar added.
