Tata Motors announced that its Tata Nexon EV has crossed the sales milestone of 2,000 units. After launching the Nexon EV in India in January 2020, Tata Motors had rolled out its 1,000th unit in August 2020.
The automaker claims to have sold another 1,000 units of the electric vehicle in the subsequent three months, from September to November 2020. As of now, the overall sales of the Tata Nexon EV have reached 2,200 units.
The Tata Nexon EV is equipped with a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor that is paired with an IP67-certified 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery. The motor develops maximum power of 129PS and peak torque of 245Nm and is mated to an automatic transmission. The battery can be charged from 0-80 percent in 60 minutes with a fast charger (CCS2), while a regular charger (any 15amp plug point) would achieve a 20-100 percent charge in eight hours.
The Tata Nexon EV has an ARAI-certified range of 312km. The standard vehicle warranty is for three years or 1,25,000km. The battery pack has an eight-year/1,60,000km warranty. The automaker also provides a 3.3kW AC on-board charger with the Nexon EV.

“Further, with the continued support from the government in terms of incentives such as benefits on registration and road tax, we hope that EVs will soon become the most desirable and a mainstream choice for the customers in India,” he added.
The Tata Nexon EV is available in three variants — XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. Below are the variant-wise Nexon EV prices (ex-showroom, India).
