Stating that Gujarat’s unique approach to ecotourism and treating tourists like god are commendable, Ashok Kumar, an experienced tour operator from Chennai, was entranced by the natural beauty of the land which may well be an advertisement for Gujarat Tourism.
In a bid to foster closer ties between Tamil Nadu and Gujarat’s burgeoning tourism industries, the Gujarat Tourism Department recently hosted 10 prominent tourism agents from Tamil Nadu on an unforgettable trip, said Ashok Kumar, the owner of Chennai Egmore Maanas Sarover Tours & Travels Pvt, Ltd., Center and the Tamilnadu Chapter Secretary, Tamilnadu Association of Domestic Tour Operations.

Ashok Kumar, Chair of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Agent Group, stated: “The Gujarat Tourism Department carefully selected 10 agents renowned for their expertise in organizing tourism in Tamil Nadu. Each of us was treated to an enriching experience during our visit to Gujarat.”
The highlight of the trip was a visit to the iconic Statue of Unity, a tribute to India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The group marveled at the breathtaking monument and enjoyed an impressive laser show that left a lasting impression.
Adventurous spirits were satisfied with a thrilling river rafting expedition on the Narmada River, followed by visits to the impressive dam and its picturesque surroundings. The agents were particularly impressed by Gujarat’s unique approach to ecotourism, which was designed to preserve and celebrate the natural beauty of the region.
The group also paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the Gandhi Ashram, where they learned about his life and philosophy of non-violence. In addition, they explored the opulent palaces once inhabited by the Maharajas, gaining insights into Gujarat’s rich cultural heritage.
