The young researchers of Chandra Mari International School, Coimbatore achieved an incredible milestone with the discovery of five early asteroids. 10 young researchers have identified five asteroids temporarily named P21DvLP, P21DFsd, P21DFtn, P21DFsc, and P21DGV1, says a senior official of the school.
These discoveries have caught the attention of NASA, who will study them in detail to determine their orbit, size, speed, and other characteristics, following which they will be given an official name.

CMites used advanced software analysis and spent nearly four to six hours each day scouring the skies for asteroids. The entire process took approximately one month, during which the students utilized their knowledge and skills to identify these asteroids. Their efforts have been recognized and applauded by the International Asteroid Search Program.
