A talent Identification Golf Tournament is being organised by 100 Medals Targeted Foundation at Rambagh Golf Club here on Monday.
The tournament will be inaugurated by Maj Gen Rajendra Rai, GOC, 61 Sub Area. Other distinguished guests include Lt Gen Vishwambhar Singh (Retd,), Dr Ashok Gupta, Captain of RGC and Vishnu Mohan Jha, Chief Airport Officer, Jaipur.
Looking at the major sports talent remaining untouched in rural areas of the country, 100 Medals Targeted Foundation, an NGO founded by Col Himmat Verma (Retd), is organising the golf tournament for children below 17 years and Caddies between 16 and 25 years. The ultimate aim of this foundation is to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s sports performance in Olympics and achieve a target of 100 medals in Olympics, said Lt Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO (Defence).
The NGO aims at identifying sporting talent amongst children from all across sections of the society. The foundation will also focus on economically weaker sections and villages where our hidden gems are located. The tournament is a social cause to encourage children and Caddies to pursue golf and outdoor sports, said Col Himmat Verma (Retd).
The entry is free for all participants. There are 61 participants from nine different places.
