The renovation work of 110-year-old Shri Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple at Vavaniya village in Morbi district of Gujarat is in full swing and the consecration ceremony will be held next year, said trustees of the temple.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Apurva Vyas, one of the trustees, said, “The Trust has acquired about 30,000 sq ft land from the Morbi District Collector and performed bhumi poojan for an yagna shala, Neem Karoli Baba Ji and Hanuman Ji temples and an ashram at Vavania village on October 17 last year. The initial cost of the project was Rs 40 lakh. With the help of Neeb Karauri Baba devotees and philanthropists, nearly 60-70 percent of the civil work is complete now. To raise adequate fund, the Trust is is holding 1008 Hanuman Chalisa and Bhajan Sandhya at Vavaniya from October 24 – 26. At this three-day meet, 11 pandits will perform 1008 Hanuman Chalisa and bhajans by Dr. Niranjan Rajyaguru (a renowned folk and devotional singer), Vithika Pande (a classical and devotional singer) and Bapa Sitaram Bhajan Mandli, Mota Dahisara.”

The Trust appeals to all devotees to contribute their mite to Shri Sankat Mochan Charitable Trust, Ahmedabad’s account with Axis Bank, Shivranjani Cross Road Branch, Ahmedabad. A/C No. 921020005725319, IFSC UTIB0003052 and get the blessing of Shri Hanumanji and Neeb Karauri Baba.

Another Trustee Vishal Bhavsar added “The temple is being constructed using pink stones by well-known Sompura Community according to shastras and will withstand for thousands of years. On completion of this divine project, Morbi district’s spiritual tourism will boost the all-round development of the village and its surroundings. This will also create employment opportunity coupled with economic thrust to the area. Further, temples are community welfare centres. After the consecration of the temple at this village, the Trust has plans to add educational and health infrastructures in future.”

Some of the well-known devotees of Neeb Karauri Baba are Steve Jobs (Founder – Apple Inc.), Mark Zuckerberg (Founder – Facebook), Juila Roberts (Hollywood actress), Larry Brilliant (An American epidemiologist, technologist, philanthropist, and author, notable for his work with the WHO, helping to successfully eradicate smallpox), Ram Dass (American spiritual teacher, former academic and clinical psychologist, and author of many books, including the seminal 1971 book ‘Be Here Now’), Krishna Das (American vocalist and kirtan singer who was nominated at 2013 Grammy Awards.)

Neeb Karauri Baba and his divine powers

Neeb Karauri Baba (1900 – 11 September 1973) as millions of people have known him, qualifies the Bhagwat Geeta concept of divine representation in human form. He was born in an affluent Brahmin family in a village called Akbarpur in district Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh in 1900. His family name was Laxmi Narayan Sharma. The Divine incarnate left his native place at the age of 10 and came to settle at a small village called Vavaniya near Morbi in Gujarat. Here he completed his spiritual arc and stayed till 1917. They named him here as Baba Lachman Das / Talaiyya Baba. He built a Hanuman Temple here.

Then he moved back to a village called Neeb Karauri in Dist. Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, which is near his place of birth. He settled in Village Neeb Karauri. The people of the village felt protected under him. The stories of his great spiritual persona and divine powers spread far and wide. The sadhu samaj anointed him with the title of 1008 Param Hansa Baba Laxman Das. He became popular with the name of the village as Baba Neeb Karauri. He cured people with terminal illness, turned salt water to sweet water. People came to him for curing their sufferings and found Him very responsive to their expectations. They always found instant help and answer to all their troubles. He left Neeb karauri village in year 1935 to spread his presence to a larger mass. He was now popular as Neeb Karauri Baba and his fame grew far and wide. He started constructing Hanuman Temples at various places. Baba Neeb Karori is a great saint of 20th Century who initiated thousands of devotees to Hanuman Bhakti.

Presently, his ashrams are spread over in the USA, UK, Europe and the entire world. He has followers from all parts of India.
