To mark the 121st Founder’s Day, the AM Jain Group of Institutions on Friday launched a unique CSR initiative ‘Unnati’ – a well curated Skill Development Programme – to empower the underprivileged at affordable cost with a whopping investment of Rs 10 crore.
P Kartikeyan, Head of MM, Nokia launched the programme in the presence of the committee members of the AM Jain College/Group.
On the sidelines of the launch, Udhan Kumar Chordia, Secretary, AM Jain College/Group said, “We firmly believe in the transformative potential of education. Through Unnati, we are laying the cornerstone for a skilled workforce capable of shaping and propelling tomorrow’s innovations. Our investment of over 10 crore underscores our unwavering dedication to furnishing students with an education beyond mere textbooks and classrooms. Unnati signifies our pledge to cultivate the leaders and trailblazers of tomorrow, individuals who will make meaningful contributions to society.”
He further said that the skill development programmes were well curated in association with the IT major Microsoft. Skill development programmes such as robotics, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, and data analytics. Recognizing the need to prepare students for this rapidly evolving environment, Unnati has meticulously curated a range of concise yet comprehensive courses. These courses are strategically designed to empower students with the industry-relevant skills required to excel in the future job market.

The institution’s adaptability extends to the digital realm, with offerings like Social Media Management, Reels, and Web Kitchen, ensuring students excel in the online sphere.

To establish Microsoft Centre of Excellence
Sanjeev Korada further said that the group held extensive discussions with Microsoft and decided to establish Microsoft Centre of Excellence at the college premises as part of Unnati programme. This initiative seamlessly integrates cutting-edge software knowledge into the curriculum, ensuring that students become well-versed in tools integral to industry practices. Apart from the above-mentioned investments, an additional investment of over1,000 computer stations will be installed at the institution by the end of this year.
Partnering with Microsoft to impart 58 training programmes
He also said that the group aims to partner with Microsoft to provide students the education for Microsoft technology products and also aims to improve the quality of the delivery of the course content to the students of the Unnati program. The discussions with ByteXL the Microsoft partner for the same is at an advance level. The efforts will be in the Kaizen (continuous improvement) concept. The certificate courses will enhance the opportunity for the students to win their dream jobs at most of the Microsoft partners companies like MySQL, Salesforce, HubSpot, Adobe, Red hat, VMware, and many more.
Answering queries, Sanjeev Korada said that the duration of the training progrmmes will vary from as low as 4 days to six months. Students pursuing from standard 5 can enroll themselves with Unnati skill development courses.
The AM Jain group will ensure placement for the trainees at the end of the programmes through the existing placement cell of the college. Depends of the need, the AM Jain Group of Institutions will moot the idea of establishing an Incubation Centre to nurture the students become entrepreneurs instead of employment seekers.
Dr Meena, Dean of the AM Jain College said that the group is in talks with ICWA, Tata Consultancy Services and similar institutions to impart over 70 courses through Unnati programme.
