Thirteen people, including six women, died and 10 were injured after a mini bus lost balance in a bid to save a bull and collided with a tree in Nagaur district of Rajasthan on Saturday.
Four of the ten people critically injured were admitted to the SMS hospital in Jaipur, while the remaining five were being treated at a Nagaur hospital, police said.
All the passengers travelling in the mini bus are believed to hail from Solapur Latur district of Maharashtra and were in the Kuchaman area of Nagaur when the accident occurred.
According to officials, the gory accident took place when the driver, in a bid to save a stray animal which suddenly came into the middle of the road, veered away and hit the tree.
As of now, senior officials from police and the district administration are at the government hospital in Kuchaman, in Nagaur, where injured were being treated.
Police and rescue team rushed to the accident spot and further investigations are on.
In another accident that happened on Friday, three people and a 10-year-old boy were killed in a head-on collision between two cars on the Jaipur-Bikaner national highway in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, police said.
