GANDHINAGAR, JAN 24

At a time when youth employment remains central to India’s development narrative, 200 young aspirants from Gandhinagar, including 34 women, received appointment letters at the 18th Rozgar Mela held at the BSF Campus on January 24, 2026.
The Rozgar Mela was organised simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, during which over 61,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly inducted recruits in various departments of the Government of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his best wishes to the appointees through a special video message, calling the appointment letters a gateway to nation-building.
The Gandhinagar event was attended by Nimuben Bambhania, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, who personally handed over appointment letters to selected youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Bambhania said, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, appointment letters for government jobs are being given to the youth across the country today.”
She added, “In this, appointment letters were handed over to about 200 youths, including 34 women, from Gandhinagar center.”
Calling the moment historic, she said, “It is a proud and historic moment for the youth who got the appointment letter today as well as their families as they are proof of the hard work of the youth, the blessings of their families and their participation in the development of the country.”
Highlighting the scale of the initiative, Bambhania recalled that the Rozgar Mela was launched in October 2022 with a pledge to connect 10 lakh youth with government service. “Today it can be said with pride that so far more than 11 lakh youths have been given appointment letters across the country through 17 Rozgar Melas, which is a matter of pride for the entire country,” she said.
Emphasising the role of youth in nation-building, she said, “Youth is the biggest strength of Aatmnirbhar Bharat,” noting that appointments are being made in key central departments including BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, Assam Rifles and Railways.
Stressing inclusive growth, Bambhania said the government is working with the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”, adding that the participation of women and rural youth at the Rozgar Mela reflected equal opportunity and empowerment.
Referring to entrepreneurship and skilling, she said that India has emerged as the third largest startup ecosystem in the world over the past decade. She noted that crores of youth have been trained under PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana, while traditional artisans are receiving fresh opportunities through PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
Urging the appointees to uphold public service values, Bambhania appealed to them to work with sincerity in the spirit of “Citizen First” and contribute actively to nation-building.
Concluding her address, Nimuben Bambhania congratulated all the appointees on joining government service and wished them a bright future. She also congratulated Inspector General, BSF Gujarat Frontier, Abhishek Pathak, and his team for the successful conduct of the event.
