Commencing on December 4, the PROTSAHAN YATRA convoy passed through Chennai, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, Tiruchirappalli and Puducherry, before its triumphant return.
Each kilometre tested physical stamina, mechanical resilience and team coordination, reinforcing the Navy’s readiness to operate in challenging environments, far beyond its maritime domain.
Mission with Meaning: Inspire, Connect, Empower
Navy takes its message directly to India’s youth
More than a drive, PROTSAHAN YATRA evolved into a people-centric movement, spotlighting the Indian Navy’s role in maritime security, recalling operational achievements including Operation Sindoor, and engaging directly with the nation’s future workforce.
The team visited eight educational institutions — five colleges and three schools — reaching nearly 5,000 to 6,000 students and NCC cadets. Interactions at PSG College, Rohini College, VOC College, Bharathidasan University, Pondicherry University, GHSS Kodaikanal, Aditya Vidyashram and Radiant International School focused on career opportunities in the Navy, discipline, integrity and national service.
Key messages reinforced during the outreach included:
- Staying focused on life goals and rejecting drug abuse
- Preserving culture and using social media responsibly
- Standing united for a drug-free India and rejecting online betting
The expedition also amplified the call for Adishakti — a self-reliant and empowered India.
Honouring the Past, Serving the Present
Veterans engagement and humanitarian outreach underline Navy ethos
The convoy connected with Veterans Service Forums in Vellore, Krishnagiri, Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli, acknowledging the sacrifices of those who laid the foundation of naval strength.
Reflecting the Navy’s humanitarian commitment, the team extended support to CMS Children Home in Kodaikanal and Thozhamai Illam in Tirunelveli, providing water purifiers, bedding, cupboards and hygiene facilities, reinforcing the service’s ethos of compassion and responsibility.
Leadership Speaks: Purpose Drives Performance
Endurance backed by conviction
Team leader Commander Ravish Chug said, “This journey reaffirmed that when passion meets purpose, nations grow stronger. We leave behind not just a footprint, but a wave of hope.”
The statement encapsulated the spirit of PROTSAHAN YATRA — a mission where endurance met empathy and patriotism translated into action.
Beyond the Journey: A Statement of Strength
Indian Navy as protector of seas, values and youth potential
Through relentless driving, sustained engagement and sincere dialogue, PROTSAHAN YATRA 2025 reaffirmed the Indian Navy’s role as a guardian not just of India’s maritime borders, but of its values and future generations.
The expedition stands as a reminder that the Navy’s strength lies equally in its operational readiness, social commitment and ability to inspire the nation’s youth.
