Bhumi Charitable Trust on Sunday awarded Bhumi Campus Awards 2022 to 30 colleges under seven categories in Tamil Nadu, said Executive Director of the Trust Sridevi Mohili Needi. Bhumi Campus Awards 2022 is Asia’s first-ever unique awards to recognize socially responsible colleges. One-of-its-kind attempt to learn from and strengthen Tamil Nadu colleges’ focus on building the future change-makers of this country.
This will enable recognition, learning, and sharing of best practices across multiple key aspects in a college. Awards were given under seven categories: Most Socially Responsible Campus, Best Volunteer Engagement, Most Eco-Friendly Campus, Best Waste Management in Campus, Most Socially Responsible Staff, People Choice Winner and Most Unique Social Initiative, said Sridevi Mohili Needi.
The awardees include the colleges, their faculty and students in recognition of their selfless service to the society.
Out of 220 applications from the colleges, 30 colleges were shortlisted under seven categories by a panel of juries.
Environment activist Dr Sultan Ahmed Ismail, TVS Sundaram CIO Shankar Viswanathan, ITC CEO Hari Balachandran were the Guests of Honour.
Tamil Nadu Environment Minister SivaV Meyyanathan addressed the gathering through video conference.
The awards were given away by Executive Director of the Trust Sridevi Mohili Needi.
