India Post invites applications from job aspirants to the posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) across the country.

Number of vacancies

India Post has announced 30,041 vacancies in various categories. There are 3,084 vacant positions in Uttar Pradesh, 3,078 in Maharashtra, 2,994 in Tamil Nadu, 2,300 in Bihar, 2127 in West Bengal and 2,031 in Rajasthan. The remaining states have under 1,000 vacant posts.

Application fees

Candidates in general category have to pay Rs 100 for the application. For women and applicants SC/ST/PWD categories, it is free.

Eligibility

Applicants must be aged between 18 and 40 years, with relaxation for those in reserved categories. They should have educational qualifications of Class 10, having passed in English and Maths. The recruits will be hired based on merit as per Class 10 marks.

How to apply

  • Register on indiapostgdsonline.gov.in
  • Click on ‘GDS Recruitment 2023’ link
  • Click on Apply Online
  • Fill registration form and upload documents
  • Pay application fee (non-refundable)
  • Submit application

Salary

The recruits will get a salary from Rs 10,000 to Rs 29,380, depending on their posts.

Last date to apply

August 23 is the last date to apply online. The application can be edited from August 24 to 26.
