As many as 328 — 302 Sailors from the Indian Navy and 26 Naviks from the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) — passed out from the portals of INS Valsura on Thursday on successful completion of
26 weeks Direct Entry Electrical Mechanic (Power and Radio) Course, says a release..
In addition to core fundamentals of Electronics and Electrical Technology and associated hands-on training at laboratories, the trainees were accorded hands-on training in assembly and repair of basic electric and electronic circuits, thus reinforcing fundamentals and development of dexterity in handling circuitry thereby imbibing the confidence to successfully handle defects at sea. The training curriculum also included grooming and mentoring exercises, aimed to instil naval core values and mould young novices into competent sea warriors.

Commodore Ajay Patney, Commanding Officer, INS Valsura reviewed the Passing Out Parade, held at the establishment following all safety protocols of COVID-19. During his address, the Commanding Officer complimented the trainees on achieving this momentous milestone in their career and advised them to stay abreast with rapidly changing technological developments in the fields of Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology.
Recognition for academic excellence
Admiral Ramnath Trophy for ‘Best All Round Sailor’ was awarded to Nikhil Kumar Jha, DEEM(P) and Commanding Officer INS Valsura Rolling Trophy for ‘Best Sportsperson’ was awarded to Dhamodaran P, DEEM(P). Md Abutahir Ansari, DEEM(P) and Saurabh Raja Parmar, DEEM(R) were adjudged the ‘Best Naval Trainee (Power)’ and ‘Best Naval Trainee (Radio)’ respectively. Kanhaiya Kumar, NVK(P) and Md Quarban Ali, NVK(R) were adjudged as ‘Best Coast Guard Trainee (Power) and ‘Best Coast Guard Trainee (Radio)’, respectively, the release added.
