NE BUSINESS BUREAU

AHMEDABAD, SEP 27

The recently unveiled Microsoft SMB Voice and Attitudes to Technology Study 2022 revealed that Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) in India lead in spending on technology with around 35% of them spending over 10% of their revenue on technology, in comparison to global counterparts. SMBs in India are the most optimistic about future cloud adoption with 27% of SMBs in India being all or mostly cloud based. Growth of customer base and improvement in customer retention are some of the top drivers of technology adoption by SMBs in India, while competition intensity is viewed as a major obstacle (35%). Amidst this high level of competition intensity, Managed Service Provider (MSPs) and Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) are the most preferred partners for a third of SMBs globally, and 25% of SMBs in India prefer working with application developers/Independent Software Vendor (ISVs).

These findings highlight that organizations, big or small, that are rooted in technology and committed to harnessing its full potential, will be able to stay ahead of the curve by becoming more agile, resilient, future-ready businesses.

Continuing its efforts to empower SMBs in the country, Microsoft along with Tech Data, A TD Synnex Company, will engage with businesses at TechMart in Ahmedabad on September 28, 2022. This event aims to drive digital transformation and acceleration of businesses by providing unique solutions for specific business needs. With one-on-one expert consultations, solutions showcase, and deep-dive sessions on cloud, collaboration and business tools, businesses will be able to see how to manage resources better, drive processes more efficiently and scale business to greater heights. The event will host over 200 business owners, business decision makers, technical decision makers, ISVs and partners under one roof. Speaking on the occasion, Samik Roy, Executive Director, Corporate, Medium and Small Business, Microsoft India, said, “It is important that technology investments and adoption be linked with business strategies to deliver success for SMBs. With 26% of SMBs in India being early adopters of new technologies as revealed by our study, initiatives such as TechMart are in line with our commitment to empower SMBs in India with the right technology, skills, and resources, and support them in their digital transformation journeys.”

As a trusted technology leader, Microsoft understands the challenges and aspirations of SMBs in India and continually invests to empower SMBs to achieve more with its advanced, end-to-end cloud computing, business process automation solutions that are secured, affordable and easy to deploy at scale. Microsoft works with more than 200,000 SMB customers in India, through its network of 17,000+ partners across the country, empowering SMBs and ensuring that businesses have the flexibility to plan purchase, deploy, and manage their entire IT roadmap throughout their digital transformation journey.
