The second edition of 4-day B2B Mega Expo of Textiles and Apparels – ADVAIT 2.0 organised by the Apparel Manufacturers of India (AMI) was inaugurated by Dr D Venkateshwaran, Deputy High Commissioner – Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Southern India and Ravindra Boratkar, President, Maharashtra Economic Development Council and Managing Director, MMActiv Sci-Tech Communication Pvt. Ltd at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam here on Wednesday.
L Raveendran of S Nallaperumal & Sons, Nagercoil; Roshan Manawalan of Saratha Silks, Trichirappalli; and B.U ChandraShekhar of B S Chanabasappa, Davangeree – Karnataka graced the occasion.
Inaugurating the expo, Dr Venkateshwaran, Deputy High Commissioner, Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai appealed to the members of the Apparel Manufacturers of India to invest in Sri Lanka, as the Sri Lankan government is offering various sops, including tax holiday, subsidised power tariff etc.
Nikhil Furia and Dharmesh Nandu of Apparel Manufacturers of India said, “We are overwhelmed with the response received across four states and are grateful for everyone’s presence here. We have got a tremendous response online and received confirmations also. This makes us strengthen our belief in our foundation and motivates us to work harder. We are excited to see what the event brings over the week.”
Addressing reporters Nikhil Furia expressed hopes that the B2B expo will generate over Rs 500 crores. The first edition of mega expo organised at Hyderabad during 2018 generated Rs 100 crore. The ADVAIT 2.0 is the 40th expo organised by AMI, he added.
He further said that the B2B expo will see participation from more than 250 brands like Reliance Retail Fashion Brands, Red & White, 90 ML, R-wings, Tiny Baby, Betty, Pretty Women, Femi Design, Era- the in-thing, Final Choice, PARI/ PARITA, Myra, N-Tique, and Vimal Fashion. The brands will showcase their latest festive collections to retailers and MBO’s present here.
AMI aims to bridge the gap between manufacturers, retailers, agents, and suppliers to build a robust community for evolution and growth opportunities. They work in sync to add meaning to the entire value chain of the readymade apparel market across India.
AMI is expecting that over 1,000 invitees are expected to attend the fair during 4 days.
