GANDHINAGAR, JULY 26
The Nation is paying tributes to the Bravehearts of the Indian Armed Forces, who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the motherland, on Kargil Vijay Diwas, which is celebrated on 26th July every year to commemorate India’s historic victory over Pakistan in 1999.


To mark the day, the Gandhinagar Military Station on Saturday witnessed an inspiring display of patriotism and unity as more than 5,000 participants took part in the Kargil Vijay Diwas Run powered by Chiripal Group.
The Chief Guest of the Kargil Vijay Diwas Run was Major General Gaurav Bagga, GOC 11 RAPID.
The run featured two categories—a 10 km flag-off at 6:00 a.m. and a 5 km flag-off at 6:30 a.m.—with both races starting and concluding inside the picturesque military base. Civilians, armed forces personnel, veterans, and students ran side by side, navigating the scenic route adorned with Indian Army insignia and surrounded by rich flora and fauna, including peacocks and Nilgai.

Brigadier Rajesh Kumar, Brigade Commander, 85 Brigade , Gandhinagar said, “The overwhelming participation in today’s run is a testament to the nation’s unwavering respect for our Kargil heroes. The Kargil Vijay Diwas Run is more than a sporting event—it’s a heartfelt tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers. We thank all the partners who made this day memorable. Today’s participation reflects the deep love and respect of the people of Gujarat about the bravery of our armed forces in time of crises.
We thank each and everyone who has turned out in this large number for the Kargil Vijay Diwas Run. This platform has brought communities together in the spirit of unity and national pride.”
