Fifty-four golfers teed off at the second round of Gulmohar Golfer of the Year 2021, which took place at Gulmohar Greens: Golf & Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, February 27 & 28 as a part of the Skoda Stellar-Go Golf 2021 calendar, says a release.
The 54 golfers took part in the second round in three categories, which also witnessed three skill competitions.
In the 0-14 handicap category, Mihir Sheth emerged as the winner in a closely fought contest. Sheth had a tally of 84 gross and 35 points (B-18), edging out eventual runner-up Avtar Singh with 90 gross and 35 points (B-16), the release added.
Michael Weir was the winner in the 15-23 handicap category with 88 gross and 37 points, and HS Bhamra the runner-up with 84 gross and 35 points.
Vihar Patel topped the table in the 24-36 handicap category with his effort of 95 gross and 32 points, while Jwalit Parmar was the runner up with 105 gross and 27 points.
The three winners were awarded 3,000 reward points, and a replica of the Claret Jug, and the runners up 1,800 points for their effort.
Among the skill competitions, Devansh Sanghavi won for the longest drive at hole #1 by landing the ball 256 yards away.
Vihar Patel landed the ball just 40 feet and three inches away from the hole to win the competition for the closest to pin at hole #3, while Vimal Mishra won the competition for the second shot closest to the pin at hole #9 by landing the ball just 14 feet from the hole.
