In Tamil Nadu, the fifth train from Chennai to Varanasi as a part of Kasi Tamil Sangamam began its journey from Chennai Central on Saturday.

The Sangamam events are to strengthen the ancient bond between Tamil Nadu and Kashi. This year seven trains will carry passengers from the State.

In this train, 216 passengers are travelling which includes representatives of the farming community, arts and culture. BJP volunteers bid farewell to the passengers. This year the programme which is known as Kasi Tamil Sangam 2.0 has been scheduled from the 17th to the 30th of December.
