Seven more flyovers have been sanctioned for the Ahmedabad city. These flyovers will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 335 crore, under the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme (SJCMUDS).
The government will release 10% of the total project cost, i.e Rs 33.50 crore initially and rest will released in a phased manner.
The new flyovers will be built at Vivekanandnagar, Vadaj, Pallav Crossroads, Pragatinagar Crossroads, Sattadhar Crossroads, Ghodasar and Naroda Patia Junction.
While presenting the state budget for the year 2019-20, an announcement was made that as many as 20 flyovers would be built in Ahmedabad city. Of these, the construction cost of the sanctioned seven flyovers will be Rs 335 crore. Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) had recently announced that it would build 18 flyovers on the Sardar Patel Ring Road. Work is in progress on eight of the 18 flyovers. AUDA will spend Rs 1,191crore on the 18 flyovers, sources said.
