Seven priests from the Kashi Vishwanath Temple conducted the Saptarishi Arati to Yogeshwara Lingam on Thursday evening on the occasion of Agasthiyar Jayanthi, says an Isha release.
The Arati was performed to the Yogeshwara Lingam in the presence of Adiyogi. The Arati commenced at 6:30 pm and concluded at 8 pm and was followed by Adiyogi Divya Darshanam and Sayana Arati.
The resplendent Yogeshwara Lingam, the aromatic waft of sandalwood and flowers and the powerful chants that accompanied the process, combined to create an atmosphere charged with devotion and celebration.
- Since the unveiling of Adiyogi in 2017, the Saptarishi Arati is held annually for Yogeshwara Lingam in the presence of Adiyogi, the only location outside of Kashi Vishwanath Temple that the Arati is performed.
The Saptarishi Arati is a powerful process believed to have been imparted by Lord Shiva to his seven disciples, the Saptarishis, as a method to invoke His grace. The process which has been kept alive for thousands of years in its undiluted form has been conducted for hundreds of years at the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.
Since the unveiling of Adiyogi in 2017, the Saptarishi Arati is held annually for Yogeshwara Lingam in the presence of Adiyogi, the only location outside of Kashi Vishwanath Temple that the Arati is performed.
