President of the Gujarat BJP and Lok Sabha MP CR Paatil will formally launch the newly formed Alumni Association of Department of Business & Industrial Management (DBIM) of the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University on Sunday at the Senate Hall of University. Kishorsinh N Chavda, Vice-Chancellor of the VN SGU will preside over the launch event, says a release.
The launch event will have a knowledge sharing session also involving key people from the industry and academia, including Professor Rakesh Basant, IIM – A, Jignesh Desai and Neeraj Choksi, Co-Founders & Jt. MD of NJ Group. It will be a full-day networking event that will give past and present students an opportunity to know, interact and build lasting relationships.
Playing significant in various fields, the students graduated from the DBIM have served as able ambassadors taking their alma mater to all parts of the world. There was, however, no platform connecting them with university of other graduates of the college. In the recent past few months, several like-minded alumni met and decided to come together to set up a DBIM Surat Alumni Association formally.
“The primary objective of the VNSGU’s DBIM Surat Alumni Association is to foster ties among alumni and students, faculty, department/university, external organizations, and other interested parties (friends). The association will aim to promote alumni participation and involvement in department activities, to become a resource for organizational skills, knowledge, and funds for students and help be a resource for teaching, placement, service, and research projects,” said Sougata Ganguli, founding member of DBIM Alumni Association.
“The association will also strive to foster and strengthen beneficial ties amongst alumni, increase the alumni and friend volunteer base and increase participation in pursuing vision including fund raising activities” added Suresh Saraf, another founding member of the DBIM Alumni Association.
