Science came alive in Chennai this week as 23 schools competed in the Inter-School Science Quiz “Eureka 2025”, organised ahead of the 84th Foundation Day celebrations of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR).
The event, held on Wednesday, September 16 at the Vigyan Auditorium, CSIR Campus, Taramani, saw teams of Class X, XI and XII students pitting their knowledge against each other in a fast-paced quiz conducted by popular quizmaster V.V. Ramanan.

Celebrating Curiosity
Launched in 2008, Eureka has become a much-awaited annual event in Chennai’s school quiz calendar. The quiz aims to spark curiosity, encourage scientific thinking, and nurture young researchers of tomorrow.
After a tough preliminary round, the top six schools advanced to the grand finals. Participants impressed the audience with their quick recall, logical reasoning and sharp teamwork across rounds that tested them on science facts, applications, and recent discoveries.
Recognition & Rewards
At the valedictory session, Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director, CSIR-SERC, congratulated all the participants for their enthusiasm. She presented mementos to the finalists and the quizmaster, and certificates to every participant.
