Gaiety and piety will compete with each other at Goswami Haveli and Shree Gopinathji Jyotish Peeth as the nine-day Vakpati Jyoti Rasotsav to mark the celebration of 251 years of Acharya Shree Gopinathji will commence here on Thursday, announced His Holiness Goswami Shree Ranchhodlalji (Shree Abharnacharyaji), the 16th Acharya in the lineage of Shree Vallabhacharya here on Tuesday.
The grand festival or Mahamahotsav of Shrimad Vallabhacharyaji and Shri Mahaprabhuji will be held from Thursday, April 24, 2025 to Friday, May 2, 2025.
Addressing the media, His Holiness Goswami Sriranchhodlalji (Shree Aabharnacharyaji) said, “Goswami Haveli, which is known as the temple of Gopinathji Jyoti Peeth or Prathamgrihanidhi Natwarlalji, has now also become a center of ancient cultural heritage. There is still a feeling that the principles of Vallabhacharyaji should be spread through special religious, cultural, educational and social programs.”
Elaborating on the festival, His Holiness said, “The Mahamahotsav will commence with a grand procession on the occasion of the Prakatyotsav of Shri Mahaprabhuji. In this Rashotsav, Shree Kardam Rishi Shastriji will deliver a discourse on Shrimad Bhagwat Venugita. During the entire duration of the festival, a beautiful arrangement of Venugita Katha, magnificent Manoratha, Kunda Kalaparpan, group garlanding, daily Mahaprasad, Kirtan Samaj and Rasgarba will be organized in the name of Shrimadbhagavat. It is expected that this program will be attended by 1,000 to 1,500 Vaishnavas every day.”
As part of the Rashotsav, new programs have also been organized daily at Kundakalparpan, which include many beautiful entertainments such as classical music, southern classical singing, classical Kuchipudi dance, Spanish guitar classical music, and conceptual singing.
Many honors will also be presented in the name of Gopinathji Dada, Gopinathji Kala Arpan,
The supernatural Deepakji illuminated by by Acharya Shri Gopinathji has been the center of faith of Vaishnavites for more than 200 years.
Throwing light on the significance of this pilgrimage site, His Holiness said, “This place of Goswami Haveli is the place of penance of Shree Gopinathji Maharaj. Vaishnavas from not only Ahmedabad or Gujarat but also from all over India and the world over come here for darshan. The 250th year of the appearance of Acharya Shree Gopinathji was celebrated with great enthusiasm last year.”
This year too, there is a frenzy and planning to celebrate the entry into the 251st year with great joy and pomp. Along with this, various other religious, social, and cultural programs will also be organized from time to time for the enjoyment of devotees.
