The Official Language Department of Southern Railway Headquarters successfully organized a regional level Hindi Drama Competition showcasing the remarkable acting talents of its employees. The event featured nine teams from various divisions and workshops.
The competition commenced with an inaugural session where Sahdev Singh Purti, Deputy General Manager, Official Language, Headquarters, welcomed the attendees and introduced the program. P. Suresh, Chief Official Language Officer and Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, welcomed and encouraged the participants.
Kaushal Kishore, Additional General Manager, Southern Railway, highlighted the historical significance of the dramatic arts, congratulated all participating artists, and released the poetry special issue of the headquarters’ magazine, ‘Dakshin Dhwani.’
The event was adjudicated by V. Venkatasubramaniam, Programme Executive, Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai, and Dr. A. Bhavani, Retired Head of the Hindi Department, Tirunelveli Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. They awarded prizes in various categories, including best plays and best actors.
Thiruvananthapuram Division clinched the first prize, Chennai Division secured the second prize, and Tiruchirapalli Division took the third prize. Kaushal Kishore distributed the prizes to the winners.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Binita Soy, Senior Official Language Officer, followed by the National Anthem.
