Stating that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a wholesome family entertainer with horror & humour, the films lead stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani kickstarted promoting their film among fun-loving Amdavadis in Gujarat.
The duo said that in real life they do not believe in ghosts and also not afraid of them.
Though the film is a sequel to the 2007 blockbuster starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Shiney Ahuja, its second part is a completely new story with new characters, answered Kartik Aryan.
Talking about his role, he said, “The character has a naughtiness, which I associate with also. So I could relate to him. His name is Ruhaan and he’s known as Rooh Baba. It’s a character you’d find amongst your friend circle. And there’s another factor, which I can’t talk about.”
Further, Kartik Aryan revealed that he is a foodie and would love to relish Gujarati food with his film pair Kiara Advani.
“I have great followers in Gujarat who have been supportive of me and expect that they would visit theatres to see this horror-comedy with their family,” Kartik Aryan added.
To perform comedy is a great challenge for all. Sharing her experience, Kiara Advani, who has found success in romance and drama, said the fact that female actors can’t compare with what their male counterparts get to do in comedies is because sometimes “unfortunately that’s how (the script) is written”.
In Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, she said she was fortunate that she had equally proficient actors in comedy, from Kartik Aaryan, Rajpal Yadav to Sanjay Mishra.
“Comedy is an extremely tough genre but I don’t think it gets enough credit. It doesn’t come naturally to many, some people are just gifted. Comedy with Diljit and Akshay is just so organic. They get that timing correct, which is crucial. That experience made me learn a lot because it was the first time I was doing it.
“Even in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, everyone was fantastic and gifted and on top of that, when you are being directed by Anees sir, whose hold on comedy is so strong, you are in safe hands,” she added.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 also stars Tabu and Rajpal Yadav
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Krishan Kumar under the banners of T-Series and Cine 1 Studios, the film is set to release on May 20. Later on it will also be made available on Netflix.
