BJP’s master strategist Prime Minister Narendra Modi is back in Gujarat on Thursday for the second phase of campaigning. The Prime Minister, who returned to his home state after two days, has scheduled a mega road show in Ahmedabad city.

Modi began his day with a message to the voters of Gujarat on his social media accounts. “Today is the first phase of the Gujarat elections. I call upon all those voting today, particularly first-time voters to exercise their franchise in record numbers,” it said.

As per BJP sources, Modi’s roadshow will start from the Naroda Gam area on the eastern side of Ahmedabad around 3:30 pm and end at the IOC circle in the Chandkheda area on the city’s western side around 6:30 pm. The Ahmedabad region will vote in the second phase of elections on December 5.

The roadshow will pass through various parts of the city, including Hirawadi, Hatkeshwar, Maninagar, Danilimda, Jivraj Park, Ghatlodia, Naranpura and Sabarmati. It will cover 13 seats of Ahmedabad city as well as Gandhinagar-South, a statement by the BJP said.

During the route, the PM will garland the statues of the leaders and he will be welcomed at 35 places. A large number of people are expected to gather on either side of the road to have a glimpse of the PM.

Modi’s strategy to begin the route from Naroda will cheer up the BJP voters and supporters of the area. Shah had a roadshow in Sanand, near Ahmedabad in the morning, and in the afternoon he will have a public meeting in Visnagar, North Gujarat.

Modi will make at least 35 stops, including at the memorials of prominent personalities like Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay, Sardar Vallabhai Patel and Subhash Chandra Bose during the roadshow.
Meanwhile, voting is underway on Thursday for the first phase of elections in 89 seats of Saurashtra and south Gujarat regions, while the polling in the remaining 93 seats, including 16 of Ahmedabad city will take place on December 5.
