COIMBATORE, JAN 11
Around 400 young sportsmen and women participated in various sports competitions such as volleyball and throwball as part of ‘Save Soil trophy’ tournament.
Conducted on behalf of Isha Outreach, the matches were held in front of the Adiyogi from 31st December to 8th January. A total of 29 teams in the men’s volleyball competition and 8 teams in the women’s throwball competition took part. All of them were from the villages surrounding Thondamuthur.
- To raise awareness about soil conservation, various sports tournaments were conducted for the rural youth at Isha
- A total of 29 teams in the men’s volleyball competition and 8 teams in the women’s throwball competition took part.
- The men’s volleyball team from the village of Mathuvarayapuram won the first place and the second place went to the Devarayapuram village team
The tournament’s grand finale was held on the 8th of January, in front of the Adiyogi. The men’s volleyball team from the village of Mathuvarayapuram won the first place and the second place went to the Devarayapuram village team. The first place in the throwball competition was won by the team from Pullakoundanputhur and the second place went to the team from Devarayapuram.
The winning teams were presented the winning trophy and prize money by Ikkarai Boluvampatty President Sadanandam.
