The Indian Railways has on Thursday announced it will operate three summer special Bharat Gaurav Trains to Kashmir (May 11), Goa (May 22) and Varanasi (May 10) from Chennai.

With a view to make this summer a memorable one for the families, the Indian Railway decided to operate these special circular tourist trains, said Vignesh, Project Director, Travel Times Limited.

  • Booking for these trains has already begun at its online portal www.railtourism.com
  • Public can utilize this special service by the Indian Railways by booking tickets only on www.railtourism.com or by calling 7305 85 85 85
  • Dates of tour commencement May 10, 11 and 22

He told reporters that the booking for these trains has already begun at its online portal www.railtourism.com

The theme-based circuit trains would promote the countries rich culture and heritage.

These trains are senior-citizen and also differently-abled friendly, he added.

Vignesh further added that the tourists need to just bring in their clothes and the rest will be taken care by the operator. One can select the package suitable for them.

Beat the summer by taking the train to Kashmir or if you are a lover of history and art, there is one that takes you to places like Ajanta, Ellora and enjoy the scenic beaches in Goa. If you want to go on a spiritual retreat, there is one which takes you to Kasi, Gaya, Prayagraj, Haridwar etc,  Vignesh said.

The trains will be operated on May 10, 11 and 22, respectively.

Replying to a query, Vignesh said that the Bharat Gaurav Trains operated had 75 percentage of patronage and expected this summer trains will see 100 per cent bookings. Apart from senior citizens, families starting showing interest in visiting places. One can avail LTC facilities  to  enjoy visiting places by these tourist trains, he adds.
