Three rural students trained by Isha emerged victorious in a chess competition held in Coimbatore and have earned their spots in the zonal level competition.
‘The Coimbatore West Central Schools Chess Tournament’ took place at Kalveerampalayam Government School on Monday.
A multitude of students from various schools participated, including those trained by Isha, in the competition. Bhuvana from Muttatthuyal Tribal School has secured the first place in the Under 17 category. Ajay Adarsh, a student from the same school, claimed the 2nd position in the Under 14 category, while Anusree, a student of Isha Vidya School, achieved the 3rd position in the same category.

All three students have now qualified to compete in the zonal level chess tournament scheduled on September 11.
Isha contributes to the educational development of students from villages near the Isha Yoga Center in various ways. As a part of these efforts, Isha has been providing chess training for over a year to 20 interested students.
