This 24*7 facility is a joint initiative by Apollo Pharmacy and Apollo Hospitals to cater to the needs of travelers in need of immediate medical aid and ensure hassle-free journeys.
The Pharmacy will stock vital medications, first-aid supplies and health essentials for travelers. The emergency care facility will be manned by an expert physician and 2 paramedic nurses working in shifts to ensure round-the-clock service. A battery-operated ambulance buggy has also been introduced to ferry patients in need of immediate medical attention to the nearest hospital. The ambulance, manned by staff trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, will be on standby within the station limits.
Commenting on this, Dr Prathap C Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, said, “Apollo Hospitals is delighted to partner with the Southern Railways to launch this initiative. As members of the medical fraternity, we understand that human life is precious and that emergency care can make a tremendous difference to the needs of patients and case outcomes.
