The ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada, a special cleanliness drive, is being conducted across the Indian Railways with great enthusiasm and dedication from various segments of society. As part of this campaign, there is a specific initiative known as Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS), which is celebrated annually from September 15th to October 2nd.
“This year, this significant cleanliness campaign, “Swachhata Hi Seva,” will take place on October 1st (Sunday) 2023, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Garbage Free India,” with a particular focus on visual cleanliness and the well-being of SafaiMitras (sanitation workers).
The primary objective of this campaign is to raise widespread awareness about cleanliness and encourage people to actively participate in shramdaan activities (voluntary labor for cleanliness initiatives.
