Public sector lender Indian Bank on Sunday participated actively in “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta”, organized under the aegis of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign, to commemorate the 9th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission.
- The Bank hosts a number of events at various rural and urban centres in 35 Districts where Indian Bank is the Lead Bank
- Bank MD & CEO and Executive Directors offer ‘One-hour Shramdaan’ at Rani Meyyammai Girls Higher Secondary School, Chennai
- The bank also distributes schoolbags to students belonging to underprivileged sections of the society
This year’s SHS-2023 theme, ‘Garbage Free India,’ underscores the importance of cleanliness and well-being of SafaiMitras (sanitation workers). The primary objective is to drive public engagement and participation in clean-up activities. The Bank hosted a number of events at various rural and urban centres in 35 Districts where Indian Bank is the Lead Bank and also through all its offices spread across the country for promoting cleanliness and recognizing the invaluable contributions of sanitation workers.
Indian Bank continued its engagement in the SHS campaign with another significant event, ‘One-hour Shramdaan’ at Rani Meyyammai Girls Higher Secondary School, Chennai led by SL Jain, MD & CEO of Indian Bank and Executive Directors Imran Amin Siddiqui, Mahesh Kumar Bajaj, and Ashutosh Choudhury, along with customers and other Senior Officials of the Bank. After the Shramdaan, School bags were distributed to the students of the school, belonging to underprivileged sections of the society.
