A five-day bootcamp on ‘Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship’ (IDE) was inaugurated at Karnavati University in Uvarsad, Gandhinagar on Monday. The event is organised for innovator students and faculty of higher education institutions, jointly by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and the Union Ministry of Education and its Innovation Cell (MIC).
The bootcamp was virtually inaugurated by Professor TG Sitharam, chairman, AICTE.
Envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this unique initiative aimed to nurture the Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurial skills of student Innovators.
At least 3,000+ student innovators and innovation ambassadors from higher education institutes, schools, and Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh (PM-USPY) beneficiary- students participated in the event from across 10 locations.
Ritesh Hada, President, Karnavati University along with Tariq Ali Saiyed, Registrar, Karnavati University remained present during the inaugural ceremony.
They welcomed Gopal Sharma, a representative from MIC, TG Sitharam, chairman, AICTE and our nodal centre head, Dr Ruchi Gautam Pant and Aishwarya Aggarwal from Wadhwani Foundation, International dignitaries Professor Thom Luke and Professor Ellis Bartholomeus, along with various heads of Institutions operating under Karnavati University for the inauguration of the IDE Bootcamp Phase-II at Karnavati University.
Professor (Dr) T G Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, said, “This is a great example of an innovative Bharat to foster new pathways for young Indians to learn and succeed in their entrepreneurial pursuits and their growth and innovation.”

Karnavati University – a state private university, was one of the institutions across Gujarat for hosting the IDE Bootcamp.
Speakers, including design experts of national and international repute, conducted training sessions at these 10 locations.
