Three persons, including a two-year-old, admitted in the coronavirus isolation ward at the Kanyakumari Government Medical College Hospital (KGMCH) in Tamil Nadu died on Saturday. Their samples have been taken and sent for testing and the results are awaited.
“All three patients had underlying medical conditions. We are awaiting their Covid-19 test results,” Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Dr. Beela Rajesh said, as quoted by News 18.
According to the Secretary, the three persons had underlying health conditions. The two-year-old boy was suffering from osteopetosis which is rare genetic disease while another person, a 66-year-old man, was suffering from kidney infection and had lymphoma and uremic encephalopathy.
The third person, a 24-year-old man, had pneumonia and sepsis, the Secretary said while adding that the results of the three are awaited. So far, 40 cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in Tamil Nadu.
The deadly disease has claimed the life of a 54-year old person from Madurai in the state.
