Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff, the MD and CEO of Kalorex Group and a leading voice in sustainable development and education reform was a part of the Business 20 (B20) Summit in Brazil, which brought together leaders from business, economy and civil society to address pressing global issues.
The B20 represents the official business dialogue of G20 country representatives. The Sao Paulo Summit invited select countries and international organisations, focusing primarily on prioritising education and employment.
The discussions emphasised the importance of unlocking human capital potential and focusing on strategies to protect, build and empower individuals to face global challenges. The key topics included the impact of AI on productivity and the private sector’s role in driving growth issues that Dr. Shroff strongly advocates.
“We are at a crucial moment where investment in education and creating employment opportunities is not just a moral obligation, but a necessity. The private sector has the power to drive sustainable, inclusive growth. We must also empower others to collectively promote sustainable development and tackle global challenges like unemployment,” she said.
She also underlined the essential role of parents and educators in the adoption of AI to enhance learning experiences and prepare the younger generations for the future.
The conversations at the B20 Summit also highlighted concerns surrounding world hunger and climate change.
Dr. Shroff’s participation at the B20 Sumit follows her engagement at the 18th International Human Rights Summit at the United Nations in New York, where she promoted dialogues of peace, empathy and unity. Last year, she spoke at a session organised as part of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, where she discussed the significance of education in developing environmental consciousness and sustainable behaviour in the next generation.
