Now, devotees of Lord Shiva can get the prasad from Shri Somnath Temple of Gujarat, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Varanasi, and Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple of Ujjain, at their doorsteps in any corner of the country, said Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of the North Gujarat & Saurashtra and Kutch Region. Additionally, during Maha Shivaratri, Post Offices will also offer a 250 ml bottle of Gangajal for just Rs 30.
Maha Shivaratri holds special significance for the worship of Lord Shiva. Everyone wish that he can have a glimpse of the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva and get blessings through prasad. However, some devotees are unable to visit the temples despite their wishes.
Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Shri Somnath Trust has signed an agreement with the Department of Posts to provide prasad to devotees at door step. Under this agreement, any devotee can send an e-money order of ₹270 to the Manager, Shri Somnath Trust, Prabhas Patan, District – Junagadh, Gujarat-362268, and request prasad via Speed Post. The e-money order should be marked with “Booking for Prasad.” After this, Shri Somnath Trust will send a prasad packet weighing 400 gram to the respective devotee through Speed Post. This Prasad packet will contain 200 grams of Magas laddoo, 100 grams of Sesame chikki, and 100 grams of Peanut chikki, said Yadav.
Prasad of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple
Also, Prasad of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple is now being made available to people across the country through Speed Post service. Under this, an e-money order of just ₹251 will have to be sent in the name of Senior Superintendent Post Office, Varanasi (East) Division-221001. As soon as the e-money order is received, the Prasad will be sent to the provided address by Speed Post.

Indian Postal Service Officer Krishna Kumar Yadav, said that the Prasad package includes an image of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Maha Mrityunjay Yantra, Shri Shiv Chalisa, 108 beads of Rudraksh garland, Bilva leaves, a coin having Bhole Baba’s image inscribed with Mata Annapurna, Bhabhuti, Raksha Sutra, Rudraksha bead, and a packet of dry fruits and mishri.
Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple of Ujjain
Postmaster General, Krishna Kumar Yadav said that Prasad from the famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple of Ujjain can also be obtained through the speed post. To avail this, an e-money order of ₹251 needs to be sent to the Manager, Speed Post Center, Ujjain. In return, the Prasad will be sent to the provided address via Speed Post. The Prasad package includes 200 grams of laddoo, Bhabhuti, and an image of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar.
