Delhi Public School-Bopal, observed World Environment Day 2025 with great enthusiasm and collective commitment towards this year’s global theme: “Tackling Plastic Pollution and Driving Sustainable Change.” The celebration involved students across all grades, reinforcing the importance of environmental responsibility through creative expression and practical actions.
In the Junior School, students were inspired to take on the role of Planet Protectors by adopting simple, meaningful habits that promote a healthier Earth. Many took the initiative to segregate household waste using colour-coded bins for dry, wet, and recyclable materials-an effort that also helped their families understand the importance of responsible waste disposal. Several students proudly shared photos of their upcycled creations, showcasing how discarded items can be transformed into useful products.
Additionally, students of the Middle school demonstrated eco-consciousness by conserving water and electricity-watering plants with leftover water and ensuring lights and fans were switched off when not in use. Some even opted to walk short distances instead of using vehicles, reflecting a growing awareness about reducing one’s carbon footprint.

The Senior School marked the occasion with creative and thought-provoking activities highlighting the dangers of plastic pollution. Students designed collages, posters, and slogans that conveyed the devastating effects of plastic waste on ecosystems and the urgent need to eliminate single-use plastics. Their artistic efforts promoted sustainable alternatives and encouraged both individual accountability and community action.
Through enthusiastic participation and practical steps, the students of DPS-Bopal, Ahmedabad, demonstrated that environmental stewardship begins with awareness and small daily actions. The celebration served as a compelling reminder that when citizens-young and old-unite for a cause, lasting and impactful change becomes possible.
