As part of Exercise NCC Yogdan, 210 NCC cadets have been deployed in Jamnagar, East Kutch and Nadiad in support of Civil Administration to fight against COVID-19, a defence spokesman said.

68 volunteer cadets along with seven ANOs, two JCOs and 12 Permanent Instructors of 8 Guj Naval unit and 27 Guj Bn led by Lieutenant Commander Chandresh Mittal were deployed across the Jamnagar city on Thursday.

Prior to deployment, cadets along with the police conducted a flag march in the city. Thereafter, the cadets were involved in traffic management at 12 locations, including Saat Rasta Circle, Digjam Circle and Khambalia gate. The Cadets were also seen actively participating in maintaining social distancing at various banks and ration shops. On Friday, 68 cadets along with 16 Permanent Instructors staff and eight ANOs were deployed at 15 locations at Jamnagar.

93 cadets (47 Boys and 46 Girl Cadets) along with 13 Permanent Instructors, five ANOs and one officer of 6 Naval unit and 1 Coy Bhuj were deployed at East Kutch under four Police Stations, Adipur, Ghandhidham A, Ghandhidham B, and Anjar. The cadets were involved in traffic management and assisting the police in carrying out checks during the lockdown.
At Nadiad, 49 cadets, six Permanent Instructors, and five ANOs were divided into two shifts for assisting the police at five main locations.

Before being deployed, these cadets were given an exhaustive briefing by the Commanding Officer of 28 Bn and rep from the Police station. The cadets were noticed performing their duty with a lot of dedication and enthusiasm. The motivated cadets were also seen interacting with the locals and educating them on COVID-19.

ADG, NCC Dte Gujarat, complimented all the volunteers, ANOs and Permanent Instructors staff and Commanding officers for undertaking this task. He further brought out that the NCC is committed to provide all the required support and assistance to the Civil Administration towards its fight against Covid-19. The ADG also informed that more volunteers would be deployed in coming days for which necessary approval is under process, the release added.

લેફ્ટેનન્ટ કમાન્ડર ચંદ્રેશ મિત્તલના નેતૃત્વમાં 8 ગુજરાત નવલ યુનિટ અને 27 ગુજરાત બટાલિયનના 07 ANO, 02 JCO અને 12 કાયમી ઇન્સ્ટ્રક્ટર સાથે 68 સ્વયંસેવક કેડેટ્સને ગુરુવારે સમગ્ર જામનગર શહેરમાં નિયુક્ત કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. નિયુક્તિ પૂર્વે, કેડેટ્સે પોલીસે સાથે મળીને શહેરમાં ફ્લેગમાર્ચ કરી હતી. ત્યારબાદ, કેડેટ્સ સાત રસ્તા સર્કલ, દિગ્જામ સર્કલ અને ખંભાળીયા ગેટ સહિત 12 સ્થળોએ ટ્રાફિક વ્યવસ્થાપનની કામગીરીમાં સામેલ થયા હતા. વિવિધ બેંકો અને રેશનની દુકાનો પર કતાર વ્યવસ્થાપનમાં પણ કેડેટ્સની સક્રિય સહભાગીતા જોવા મળી હતી. શુક્રવારે, જામનગરમાં 15 સ્થળે 16 કાયમી ઇન્સ્ટ્રક્ટર સ્ટાફ અને 08 ANO સાથે 68 કેડેટ્સને નિયુક્ત કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા.
6 નવલ યુનિટ અને 1 કોય ભૂજના 13 કાયમી ઇન્સ્ટ્રક્ટર, 05 ANO અને 01 ઓફિસર સાથે 93 કેડેટ્સ (47 છોકરા અને 46 છોકરી કેડેટ્સ)ને પૂર્વ કચ્છમાં ચાર પોલીસ સ્ટેશન- આદીપૂર, ગાંધીધામ એ, ગાંધીધામ બી અને અંજાર હેઠળ નિયુક્ત કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ કેડેટ્સે ટ્રાફિક વ્યવસ્થાપન અને લૉકડાઉન દરમિયાન પોલીસ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવતા ચેકિંગમાં તેમને મદદની કામગીરીમાં ભાગ લીધો હતો.
નડિયાદ ખાતે, 49 કેડેટ્સ, 06 કાયમી ઇન્સ્ટ્રક્ટર અને 05 ANOને 05 મુખ્ય સ્થળે પોલીસની મદદ માટે 2 શિફ્ટમાં વહેંચી દેવામાં આવ્યા છે.
આ કેડેટ્સની નિયુક્તિ કરતા પહેલાં, 28 બટાલિયનના કમાન્ડિંગ ઓફિસર અને પોલીસ સ્ટેશનના પ્રતિનિધિ દ્વારા તેમને સંપૂર્ણ માહિતી આપવામાં આવી હતી. કેડેટ્સ ખૂબ જ સમર્પણ અને ઉત્સાહ સાથે તેમની ફરજ બજાવતા જોવા મળ્યા હતા. પ્રોત્સાહિત કેડેટ્સ સ્થાનિક લોકોને કોવિડ-19 અંગે સમજણ આપવા માટે તેમની સાથે વાતચીત કરતા પણ જોવા મળ્યા હતા. NCC ડાયરેક્ટોરેટ ગુજરાતના ADGએ તમામ સ્વયંસેવકો, ANO અને કાયમી ઇન્સ્ટ્રક્ટર સ્ટાફ તેમજ કમાન્ડિંગ ઓફિસરોને આ કામગીરીમાં ભાગ લેવા બદલ તેમની પ્રશંસા કરી હતી. વધુમાં તેમણે કહ્યું હતું કે, NCC કોવિડ-19 સામેની લડાઇમાં સ્થાનિક વહીવટીતંત્રને જરૂરી તમામ સહાય અને સહકાર આપવા માટે પ્રતિબદ્ધ છે. ADGએ વધુમાં કહ્યું હતું કે, આગામી દિવસોમાં વધુ સ્વયંસેવકો નિયુક્ત કરવામાં આવશે જેના માટે જરૂરી મંજૂરીની પ્રક્રિયા ચાલી રહી છે.
