Rotary Club of Bhavnagar Vibrant organized a special CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training session at Dhanesh Mehta High School, equipping students with vital life-saving skills that can make the difference between life and death in emergencies. The session was conducted by Dr. Vipul Parekh, Head of ICU & Critical Care Specialist at Shree Bajarangdasbapa Arogyadham.
During the training, 40 students were taught how to respond effectively in situations such as sudden cardiac arrest, choking, or collapse. The hands-on session gave them the confidence to act promptly until professional medical help arrives—a crucial skill in a country where bystander CPR can significantly improve survival rates.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Club President Namrita Chadha said that empowering youth with emergency response training is a step towards creating a more resilient and responsible community. Club member Krishna Ben Shah also encouraged participants, stressing that such knowledge enables students to save not just classmates or family members, but even strangers in need.

Experts underline that CPR is among the most critical first-aid measures, as every minute without intervention reduces a cardiac arrest victim’s survival chances by nearly 10%. By conducting these workshops, Rotary Club of Bhavnagar Vibrant is playing a proactive role in bridging the gap between medical emergencies and professional care.
The initiative reflects the Rotary’s broader mission of serving society by promoting health awareness, preparedness, and humanitarian service at the grassroots level.
